M104

The galaxy M104 (NGC 4594), also known as the "Sombrero Galaxy", belongs to the Hubble class SA(s)a. Its disk is inclined by 84° with respect to the sky plane. This galaxy has a distance median value of 9.2 Mpc. It is the first Sa galaxy for which a large-scale magnetic field in the disk has been detected.
