The galaxy NGC 4631 belongs to the Hubble class SB(s)d. Its disk is inclined by 86° with respect to the sky plane. This galaxy has a distance median value of 5.7 Mpc. Its radio halo is one of the largest known because of a strong galactic wind and interaction with neighboring galaxies.
